Over 13 years ago a man of God showed me a scripture:
The anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, […]

Born Again?

  • Born Again?

    Barna Group, Ventura California, USA
Born again Christians are defined as people who said they have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ that is still important in their life today and who also indicated they believe that when they die they will go to Heaven because they had confessed their sins and had accepted Jesus Christ as their savior.

  • Forty-Five Percent Born Again?

While 80% of Americans say they are Christian, 45% call themselves "Born Again Christians" according to:

    Barna Group, Ventura, California, USA
Forty-Five percent of Americans say they have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, have confessed their sins and accepted Christ as Savior according to The Barna Group. But even survey author George Barna agrees that not all born again Christians are bearing fruit. What we're finding is that there is still a lot of superficiality related to the fact that a lot of people have recognized that the spiritual dimension of their life is important. Barna finds that 36-percent of Americans are what he calls NOTIONAL CHRISTIANS, they describe themselves as Christians but do not meet the born again definition.

  • Biblical World view?

    Barna Group, Ventura, California, USA
For the purposes of the research, a biblical world view was defined as believing that absolute moral truths exist; that such truth is defined by the Bible; and firm belief in six specific religious views. Jesus Christ lived a sinless life. God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe and He still rules it today. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned. Satan is real. A Christian has a responsibility to share their faith in Christ with other people, and the Bible is accurate in all of its teachings.

  • Few have Biblical World View

    Barna Group, Ventura, California, USA
The research indicated that everyone has a world view, but relatively few people have a biblical world view - even among devoutly religious people. The survey discovered that only 9% of born again Christians have such a perspective on life. The numbers were even lower among other religious classifications: Protestants (7%), adults who attend mainline Protestant churches (2%) and Catholics (less than one-half of 1%). The denominations that produced the highest proportions of adults with a biblical world view were non-denominational Protestant churches (13%), Pentecostal churches (10%) and Baptist churches (8%).
