Prosperity Unplugged

Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors Matthew 6:12

20 Years ago after being injured on the job and losing everything, my wife and I decided to live on a cash only basis (no credit). Our plan was very simple, if we didn’t have the cash, we didn’t buy it. This worked very well for us for a number of years. We moved to Colorado about ten years ago and I found a job in the plumbing industry doing roto-rooter work. While we struggled some in the beginning (the pay is commission only) it turned out to be a good job as I got better and faster!

Then on 9/11 2001, the World Trade Towers were attacked and destroyed…

This caused a significant decline in most service industries in America, including the plumbing industry. Our resources dwindled and dwindled… While God still provided for all our needs there was nothing left over for special occasions and emergencies except the credit cards. We used those to buy birthday presents, Christmas gifts, and other things we wanted. There we went… back in debt.

Having been raised in Denominational Churches and taught the Law of Tithes and Offerings we were told if we didn’t tithe we would be robbing God and cursed with a curse. So we increased our giving, hoping to get more. Things continued to get worse and worse… the more we gave the more we went into debt. We began to search the Scriptures for God’s path to prosperity and asked Him to show us the Truth.

He showed us how “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law,” (including the Law of the Tithe) “being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” Galatians 3:13 He explained how insulting it is to both Him and His Son when these Denominational Ministers teach the people that you have to give to get, that you can BUY the blessings of God, implying that Christ’s sacrifice wasn’t good enough to bring us financial prosperity…

DENOMINATIONAL MINISTERS teach that MONEY is the SEED, and their MINISTRY is good ground. Do you believe that money is the seed? Then go ahead, plant some money in your garden and see what you get. Put some money in your bird feeder and see how many birds eat it. Grind up some money and make a loaf of bread with it or a cake. Sounds ridiculous doesn’t it…

If so, why keep giving them your money?

Christ Jesus said plainly, “the parable is this: The seed is the word of God…” Luke 8:11 “The good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Luke 8:15 When you sow the Word in your heart and believe, it will grow and bring forth a harvest in your life… So we asked Him for His Word on prosperity.

It was a great revelation when the Lord showed us how to become debt free! His Word was simple… “forgive your debtors and I’ll forgive your debts.” He explained how you cannot buy His blessings or work for them. How He loves us and delights to give us every good and perfect gift. How He wants us to prosper and be in health like any good Father wants for his children!

He revealed this to us in May, 2005 so we shared it with you… Prosperity and began to forgive. We forgave everyone we could think of and asked Him to reveal to us anyone else we needed to forgive… The weeks and months went by and about once a week I would encounter a situation that reminded me of someone, something, some circumstance in my life where a person(s) had done something or said something to me that left me feeling they owed me or I owed them. When He brought these things to my remembrance, I would immediately pray for that person(s), forgive them, and ask God to bless them.

Then things started to change. We began to have money left over after payday. We began to pay off our credit cards instead of just making the minimum payment. My wife was offered a job that she could do at home and began to bring in even more money… Now we give when God tells us to give or moves on our hearts to give. He shows us when, where, and what to give!

What a relief. No more fear of being “cursed with a curse.” No more fear of “robbing God.” No more worrying how we are going to tithe when there is just enough money for the rent.

One thing that is very interesting to me was to watch the response of the enemy. Since we have learned the truth we have been attacked repeatedly by things that have been very offensive. It is plain to see that these attacks are designed to get us to take the offense and move back into indebtedness, …butt, as Paul said, “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11 When these attacks come we forgive and pray for the instigators… we will not be brought back into bondage to the Law – “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them…” Galatians 3:10

We will be completely debt free soon and want you to join us on God’s path to prosperity, forgiving your debtors so you can be debt free!!!

  2. Hi Ministermark,
That is a good point! I changed my job career – becoming a freelancer and thought : ok i will increase my giving and God will secure me. But this is in fact buying grace. We are free, free to-give and free to for-give.

    Thanks,

    Karl

Wow! I definitely disagree with the tithe being a “curse of the law” that is a first for me. I have witnessed God’s hand in my own finances when I became a faithful tither. It is not about paying for a blessing it is about recognizing God’s ownership and our stewardship. By giving God the tenth we establish His ownership over the other 90% and He promises to rebuke the devourer over our lives including our finances. I have witnessed this truth of God’s word.
